Step One:
Fill a kitchen blender with water. Then add a sheet of Cotton Press cotton linter, and a teaspoon of Cotton Press additive. Blend for one minute.
(All materials are food safe) |
 |
Step Two:
Place the Terra Cotta Mold on a folded towel. Spray with CottonPress Mold Release. |
 |
Step Three:
Hold a strainer above a bowl and pour the blended Cotton Press mixture into the strainer. This will remove excess water from the mixture and help to ensure that your casting will turn out as expected. |
 |
Step Four:
After the excess water has been drained, pour your Cotton Press mixture into your selected mold. Spread just enough pulp to cover the mold. (Pulp should be very wet and soupy) |
 |
Step Five:
Using a sponge, press onto the mold two or three times to remove water. Use an absorbent towel to remove the remaining water. |
 |
Step Six:
Dry in the microwave, convection or conventional oven, hair dryer, window sill, or let stand overnight.
When crispy dry, remove the cotton piece with a thin, sharp, narrow blade knife. |
 |
Step Seven:
Enjoy your Cotton Press casting.
Q: What if my casting does not turn out right?
A: If it doesn't turn out right, don't throw it away. Just blend it up and press it again! What could be easier?
Tips: The pristine white cotton can be left white or can be decorated with pastels included in the kit. You can also use eye-shadow, blush makeup, and/or acrylic paints for color. Iridescent glitter adds a light sparkle and makes a lovely accent. |
